Year 2000 is rapidly approaching and your credit union has been preparing for it since 1997. Just as Baker's Federal Credit Union has always provided excellent member service, we will continue serving you in the new millennium. As most people are aware, some computers and software have been programmed in such a way that they will handle date calculations incorrectly when the century changes. Baker's Federal Credit Union has a solid plan in place to ensure your accounts will be properly handled in the new millennium. In fact, the credit union has devoted a substantial amount of time, effort, and resources to make sure all of our computer systems will run smoothly before and after January 1, 2000.
Under our plan, an assessment of all critical systems were renovated and tested. Personnel participated in proxy group testing for all aspects of our computer systems. Testing was also preformed on site with third party vendors that provide transmissions to the credit union on a daily basis. Currently, we have implemented all renovated and tested systems. There is also a contingency plan in place in case of unforeseen elements. We are confident these efforts will ensure that business will proceed as usual as the new millennium is welcomed. Still, we recommend you keep all your statements from the last quarter of 1999. Also, the credit union will be closed December 30th and 31st for essential year-end processing.
