About Credit Unions
A Credit Union is like a bank, but there are a couple of differences. When you open your own savings account at a Credit Union,  you become an owner of the credit union - and a member of the credit union. Like when you opened your own savings account you became part owner of your new credit union, Bakers Federal Credit Union. You are now an "Official" Member! We think that's great!
At a bank when you open a savings account, you don't own the bank. You are a customer, or shopper, of that bank, you aren't a member. When you are a member and an owner of a credit union, you get treated better. You are our family! Aren't you glad you joined? We are!

About Savings . . .
Saving your money is very important.
Saving money is not just spending it! If you go to a toy store and see something you'd really like to buy, but decide not to, that is saving your money!! It's that easy. Maybe you would like to save your allowance or birthday money for a cool SEGA or Nintendo game, bike, Barbie or sneakers.
