User Group Representative for Y2K Testing in Salt Lake City
Judi Underwood, President of Bakers Federal Credit Union represented the Nebraska Users Group in Salt Lake City to test the Year 2000 ready software issued by CUSA. CUSA has over 1000 customers nationwide using their credit union software including Bakers Federal Credit Union. Each User Group and some individual credit union sent representatives to Salt Lake City to create a simulated credit union environment to test the Year 2000 ready software in a Proxy Group environment.
The testing encompassed a full work week testing twelve critical dates ending with 12/31/2001. Teams were created that involved an inputer, a recorder, a verifier and a third party overseer. Participating in the testing solidifies our credit unions commitment to Year 2000 preparedness. This commitment should demonstrate to you our members, and to our regulators, NCUA, that the staff and Board of Directors of Bakers Federal Credit Union are committed to Year 2000 readiness.

Baker's and Y2K
Year 2000 is rapidly approaching and your credit union has been preparing for it since 1997.
Just as Baker's Federal Credit Union has always provided excellent member service, it is looking forward to serving you in the new millennium. In fact, Baker's Federal Credit Union is devoting substantial time, effort, and resources to make sure all of our computer systems will run smoothly before, during, and after January 1, 2000.
As you may have read, some computers and software have been programmed in such a way that they will handle date calculations incorrectly during the 21st century. Baker's Federal Credit Union has a solid plan in place to ensure your accounts will be properly handled in the new millenium.
Under our plan, an assessment has been made of which systems need updating, all vendors have been contacted to ensure their compliance, and procedures for testing and validating systems have been set up to make sure they work. The credit union also has a contingency plan in place should it be necessary to implement based on results of our Year 2000 testing of critical dates.
This special effort is being under taken with you, our members, in mind. If you have any questions, about Baker's Federal Credit Union Year 2000 computer update, please give us a call.
